2026 New Zealand 1KG Package

Imported from New Zealand, each package contains approximately 1 kg of worker bees and a mated queen in her cage. These early-season packages are an excellent way to start or expand your apiary.

What: 1 kg of New Zealand bees + 1 mated, caged queen
Price: A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your package. The remaining balance is due upon pick-up or select 'Full Amount’ and pay in full (this is non refundable as well).

Pickup: TBA (typically early March — Comox Valley pickup only)

🧰 Equipment & Preparation

It’s very important that your bees have drawn comb ready when they arrive.
Because packages typically arrive when the weather is cool and rainy with limited forage, new bees struggle to draw wax right away. Having drawn comb gives them the best possible start in your hive.

Package bees are live animals and cannot be guaranteed beyond pickup. Once you leave with your bees, you assume full responsibility for their care and outcome.

• No refunds, exchanges, or credits — all sales are final.

• No queen replacements will be provided unless your queen arrives dead in the package.

• No guarantee is made for colony performance, queen acceptance, or queen viability.

• A small percentage of packages may result in queen failure, supersedure, or drone-laying queens — these are inherent risks of package beekeeping.

• It is the beekeeper’s responsibility to monitor the colony after installation and re-queen if necessary.

• Home Grown Bee will not replace or refund for losses due to weather, management, or transport conditions after pickup.
