Double Mite Counter

The double jar mite counter is an effective method for counting mites in your colony! Untwist one jar, add your icing sugar and scoop approximately half a jar of bees (~300 bees), twist the lid on and give the jar a swirl completely covering the bees in icing sugar. Flip the jar up side down to shake the mites into the opposing jar. The grated centre will allow for the mites to fall off the bees for counting. Untwist the jar and release the bees back into their hive.
